Dan’s The Man

For the Canucks fans the wait is over as they welcome home B.C. boy Dan Hamhuis, to a reported 6-year deal for $4.5million per year. Last season he scored 5 goals and 19 assists for the Predators. Many teams coveted the 6ft 1”, 203lb, 27 year old.

Earlier in the day they signed Manny Malhotra to a $7.5 million contract over 3 years. It is expected that he will be the centre on the 3rd line. Last season he chalked up 14 goals and 19 assists for the Sharks.

The Canucks kick started the free agency by signing centre Joel Perrault. It is suspected he will spend time playing for the Moose.

The Canucks also signed LW Jeff Tambellini to a 1 year deal.

With the arrival of Hamhuis could this signal a trade for Kevin Bieksa?

Great deal from the canucks, but I think it's obvious that Bieksa is out, if not Ehrhoff (and if I were the Canucks I would NOT trade Ehrhoff). But what do they really need though? I can't see them needing much other than prospects/picks. Maybe a cheap-is top 6 winger?
