"Flight Plan" Webisode to be Debuted on Flyers Website

The Philadelphia Flyers is looking to expand the coverage it gives to the fans leading into the 2013-14 season.

The Flyers will be debuting a new webisode series titled "Flight Plan" on PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. The pilot episode, titled "War Room" will air August 6 at 7PM on the website.

"War Room" will be centered around a meeting that was held 48 hours before the NHL Draft back in June. As per the press release:

Director of Scouting Chris Pryor leads the discussion with input from General Manager Paul Holmgren and the chief scouts affiliated with the organization to determine the final rankings of the draft eligible players and zero in on which ones would best fit the team’s future needs.

“Flight Plan” will continue to follow the Flyers throughout the season, catching all the highs and lows and also capturing special off-ice activities, life on the road and in the community, and what it’s like to be professional hockey players and coaches like never seen before.

All episodes will be available for viewing exclusively at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. The second episode launch date will be announced later this month. Fans can discuss each episode using the hashtag “#FlightPlan” on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

This sounds like a very interesting series for the Flyers to be doing. It will give fans inside information on the top draft picks including defensemen Samuel Morin and Robert Hagg.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it taps more into the signings of Vincent Lecavalier, Mark Streit and Ray Emery as well as cover training camp and preseason in a month. If this series runs through the season, it will be a fantastic series for the fans to enjoy all year.

To add to this series, Flyers beat writer Anthony SanFilippo will be "heavily involved" this series.

"I will be taking on various roles - Producer/Director/Narrator. It's going to be a lot of fun," SanFilippo tweeted.
