Flyers Extend Rinaldo, Rosehill

The Flyers are making sure the 2013-14 team has some muscle next season.

They did so by extending the contracts of two enforcers, Zac Rinaldo and Jay Rosehill. Both received two-year extensions.

Rinaldo will make an average salary of $750,000 for the next two seasons. Rosehill's annual hit will be $675,000.

Rinaldo, 22, had a fantastic season this year before getting hurt. He scored three goals and added two assists.

His offensive numbers don't tell the story though. He racked up 143 hits and 85 penalty minutes in 32 games before getting spraining his ankle on April 3.

He played pest the entire year, keeping himself under control and drawing other teams into taking dumb penalties. He took only five majors, the fewest among the current top 13 penalty minute earners.

Rosehill, 27, was acquired on April 1 for Harry Zolnierczyk. He scored in his first game as a Flyer and has earned 47 penalty minutes (three majors and two misconducts) in the seven games he's played with the Flyers.
