Flyers Hartnell, Lecavalier to Miss Time

The Flyers' depth at forwards, which was already at question when healthy, just took a major hit.

After leaving the game on Friday, both left winger Scott Hartnell and center Vincent Lecavalier will both miss some time, per general manager Paul Holmgren.

Hartnell will miss 2-4 weeks with an upper body injury. Hartnell told Holmgren that he was experiencing a "stabbing pain" while on the ice in the first period of Friday's 2-1 loss to Phoenix.

Lecavalier will miss about a week with a lower body injury sustained in the third period.

Both players received MRI's earlier today and their injuries will not require any type of surgery. There were no fractures, Holmgren said.

The Flyers are dressing both Tye McGinn and Michael Raffl, who the Flyers recalled from Adirondack this morning. Raffl is set to make his NHL debut tonight in Detroit.

Flyers defenseman Andrej Meszaros and winger Jay Rosehill are scratched from tonght's game against Detroit.

No word was given as to why they were scratched. The Flyers are dressing defenseman Erik Gustafsson and winger Kris Newburry in their place.
