Matt Read Injured In Flyers Win

The injury bug have struck again for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Matt Read became the most recent Flyer to leave a game with an injury, and it couldn't come at a worse time for one of the members of their top line.

Read was hit hard by Penguins forward Chris Kunitz during Wednesday's 6-5 win. He left the game after that hit with about three minutes left in the first period and never returned to the ice.

During the game his status was updated as an upper body injury and that he wouldn't return. The immediate assumption is that he has a concussion.

He will be reevaluated today to see if he has a concussion, said Paul Holmgren. He will most likely update reporters before the game tonight.

It would be a shame if the Flyers lost Read, especially with them playing the Florida Panthers tonight. Read has scored four of his team-leading seven goals against the Panthers, including a hat trick back on January 26.
