Michael Leighton Injured on Friday; Brian Boucher Recalled For Road Trip
The Flyers have recalled back-up goalie Brian Boucher after putting Michael Leighton on the IR.
Leighton was injured in Friday's optional skate before their 4-3 overtime win against the Hurricanes. General manager said that Leighton's injury is an upper body injury and he could miss up to 10 days.
Leighton played in his only game of the season on January 27. He was rocked for five goals in a 5-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Boucher, 36, has been playing well for the Adironack Phantoms. He has a .908 save percentage and 2.71 goals against-average in six starts this season, playing very well in his fourth stint in the Flyers organization.
With the Flyers starting a six-game road trip on Monday, it's very likely Boucher could see action.
They play in Toronto Monday night before traveling to Winnipeg to play on Tuesday. It's very likely Boucher could play against the Jets on Tuesday.
The Flyers also play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday in New Jersey and Montreal.
