Wild Shut-Out Punchless Flyers
Ray Emery deserved better than the result showed.
In an effort that was lacking any the Flyers lost one of the worst games of the season, a 2-0 no-show to the Wild on Monday. They managed just 21 shots all game with 11 coming in the third period alone.
The Wild scored two quick goals in the opening five minutes of the third period.
Jason Pomminville scored his 14th of the season to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead. Over a minute later, Charlie Coyle made it a 2-0 game with his third of the season.
Josh Harding stopped all 21 shots he faced for the Wild. Emery played well in his 19-save loss.
This was the fifth game this season that the Flyers were without Vincent Lecavalier (back spasms). In those games they are 1-4.
