Trenton had some early chances to score as Kevin Harvey of Elmira took two charging minors early in the first period, but nothing came of it for Trenton.

Nine minutes into the game, Jordon Southorn scored for Elmira on a power play as Eric Baier was in the box for tripping.

J. S. Berube tied the game for Trenton midway through the second period. During the second period, the Titans took control of the game as Connor Goggin and Kelly Zajac would both tally to give the Titans a 3-1 lead.

However, momentum would shift back quick Matt Carter and Kyle Bushee would tie the game before the second intermission.

Coach Vince Williams was blunt.

“We shoot ourselves in the foot,” he said.

Kelly Zajac needed one word to describe coughing up the lead.

“Unacceptable,” he said.

Another former Titans, Jordan Pietrus, scored to make it 4-3 but Kelly Zajac answered back to send the game to overtime.

Overtime would be scoreless and Elmira would take the shootout 2-0 as Carter and Pietrus both scored on Titans goalie Scott Wedgewood.
