Titans Power Down Solar Bears

It took 19 seconds for the Titans to get on the board Sunday afternoon in Trenton against the Orlando Solar Bears when Mike Ulrich beat Zoltan Hetenyi to make it 1-0. The Titans would not take the foot off the gas and cruised to an easy 6-1 win.

Coach Vince Williams summed it up quickly.

“We knew the start was important,” he said.

Cepis added four assists. Bryan Haczyk scored a pair of goals. Brooks Ostergard made the start for Trenton and stopped 21 of 22 shots as the Titans cruised easily to a win.

Haczyk talked about the win.

“We had a good start, we had a strong start, and we scored one pretty early and there, we felt like it was definitely going our way today,” he said

The win moved the Titans to 10 points of a playoff spot with nine games left to play.

The Titans dominated possession through the first two periods outshooting Orlando 34-12 heading into the second intermission.

However, the Solar Bears broke Ostergard’s attempt at his first professional shutout when Justin Levac beat him on a wrist shot from the low slot. Eric Baier added a four on four goal and the Titans cruised easily to a win.

After the sixth goal, Hetenyi's afternoon ended and Patrick Killeen mopped up.
