The Mini Trade Deadline Blog, With Updates!

Stay tuned for all the updates as the Olympics trade freeze approaches! Pierre Gauthier is supposedly going to address the media at 4 in Philly, so something is probably brewing on the Habs' side.

SO FAR TODAY:

- Cullen to Ottawa for Alex Picard and a 2nd round pick to the Hurricanes.

- Jonathan Cheechoo put on waivers by the Ottawa Senators.

- Kim Johnsson and Nick Leddy to Chicago for Cam Barker (to Minnesota), per Bob Mckenzie.

- Jody Shelley to NYR for a draft pick, per Darren Dreger.

Good stuff.

So we have Florida that's going to almost certainly make some moves today. Rumors are also swirling that Carolina isn't done. Habs will probably make another move, and there's certainly more to come!
Nathan Horton to Habs, plzplzplzplzplz
He's no Dominic Moore.
Add Lundmark and Brad May to the waivers list. Brashear cleared.
From the guy who started the Frolov rumor:

#Frolov Le «Yes» serait sorti de la bouche de Lombardi et de Gauthier mais la LNH semble s'être interposée... détails à venir.

Meaning the Gauthier and Lombardi agreed on a deal but the league seems to have some sort of issue... we'll see...
According to Russo Trib, The Wild could be making a move before the deadline in 20 minutes. Bob Mckenzie says Chicago is the likely suitor.
Stars apparently getting offers for Robidas (according to the guy who broke the Lehtonen trade).

Bruins and Pens might land Torres before the deadline.

Lots of talk, nothing seems to have happened since this morning's trade... stuff might trickle in but that looks to be it.

Both Trib and Mackenzie saying the deal is still going through, they're on the line now.

Jody Shelley to NYR for a draft pick.
Cam Barker for Kim Johnsson per TSN.

I don't think it'd be fair to the rest of the NHL for the Habs to have two Dominic Moores.
i dont know about frolov, he seems to be a younger version of Kovalev (not in skill but in the way hes dormant for games and then wakes up). but i would like to know if ethan moreau would fit in our club. i wonder why the league stopped the transaction.
