It has been over a month since the Vancouver Canucks have played in the comfort of their home at General Motors Place, 42 days to be exact. The Canucks have just one more game remaining on their NHL record 14-game road trip that has seen them travel all across North America.

The Canucks are halfway through a crucial stretch of the season. Vancouver has completed half of the pre-Olympics portion of their 14-game road trip and have picked up 4 of a possible 8 points after coming back from 2 goals down against the Boston Bruins this afternoon to win in the shootout.

Mason Raymond scored two goals and Christian Ehrhoff scored the game winning goal in the third period as the Canucks capped off a perfect 4-game home stand with a 3-2 victory over the St.Louis Blues. This win also marks the last time the Vancouver Canucks will play at General Motors in over a month as they embark on their 14-game road trip.

It has been a pretty controversial couple of weeks for the Vancouver Canucks starting with the Alex Burrows-Stephane Auger incident on January 8th. On January 16th, Ron Maclean of CBC spent 11-minutes of Hockey Night in Canada siding with Auger and discounting everything Burrows said. The Canucks responded by blackballing CBC last Saturday and declined to do any interviews despite a big 5-1 victory over the Blackhawks.

Alex Burrows has been the hottest player on the Canucks scoring nine goals in his last five games but the feisty winger may find himself in hot water with the National Hockey League for comments made after tonight's game against the Predators. Burrows claims that referee Stephane Auger was out to get him after an incident when these two teams met on December 8th.

Pavol Demitra, who many had written off for the season, is inching closer to a return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup. Demitra tore a rotator cuff in his shoulder in last seasons playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks when he went to hit Brian Campbell. He then suffered a set back early this year before he was able to return. Things are finally falling into place for the 35 year old as he re-joined the Canucks in practice and looks to be one or two weeks away from getting in some game action.

A truck carrying equipment for the Minnesota Wild has caught fire in the Scotiabank Place parking lot. It is unsure what has been damaged so far but it has been confirmed that goaltender Nicklas Backstrom's gear is among the destroyed equipment. It appears that most of the players equipment has also been lost to the fire.
